Flower essences contain the life-force energy released from flowers in the peak of their bloom. Using methods pioneered by Dr. Edward Bach in England during the 1930's, flowers release their energy (vibrational pattern) into water. This "mother tincture" is usually preserved with brandy to prevent bacterial growth, and diluted to a "stock" level. This "flower remedy" is taken by placing a few drops on, or under, the tongue, or placing a few drops into a glass of water to be sipped at regular intervals.

Like Homeopathy, there is currently no analytical scientific explanation for why flower essences work. We believe that flower essences work by interacting with an "energetic web" surrounding and infusing the body.

When we experience health, this energetic web is in balance without any "short circuits" or "open circuits" to inhibit its proper functioning. When environmental factors threaten this balance, the web can short-circuit or overload. We then go into "crisis mode" to try to repair the imbalance. If we are unable to correct the energetic imbalance, we manifest the imbalance in our mental or emotional health. Mental and emotional imbalances can create undesirable conditions in our daily life. Taking the correct essences can restore balance to the energetic body or "auric field."

What Are Vibrational Essences?

The term "vibrational essence" includes flower essences, gem elixirs, environmental essences and other more esoteric essences. Vibrational essences are all infusions of energy patterns into water. A chemical analysis (using today's technology) would not reveal any chemicals in the water except for the brandy or other preservative that is added to the essence to prevent bacterial growth.

The first vibrational essences were flower essences made by placing flowers in spring water. Later on, essences were made with other natural objects that were known to have beneficial powers or properties that were not quantifiable scientifically. These objects include crystals and gems. Gem elixirs capture the "essence" of the gem into a liquid form that can be taken internally and dispersed throughout the energetic body.
